The <a href="http://poetsasylum.org/" target="_blank">Poets' Asylum</a>
continues its 20th anniversary celebration of local poets with a feature
by
<b>Alex Charalambides</b>. Charalambides is a connoisseur of poetry
related
hats these days. From organizing the Worcester Poetry Collective Sampler
last
fall to winning the Worcester Youth Poetry Slam their first WCC Grant,
from
curating & co-hosting the weekly Monday Night Dirty Gerund Series at
Ralphs
Diner to co-judging the recent WoMag Poetry Contest, from setting up
fundraisers, running weekly workshops, gigging wherever, Alex still
tries to
write poetry between dizzy fits. Charalambides was the Worcester iWPS
rep in
2008, he's been on Worcester, Boston & Providence slam teams and
he's a damn
fine writer to boot.</font></p>
<p align="justify"><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Come check
out the man wearing all those cool hats and hear
what he has to offer at the mic. Join us at Jumpin' Juice and Java (335
Chandler Street, Worcester). The sign-up list goes out by 6:00 p.m. and
the
reading starts by 6:30 p.m. No cover however please put some money in
the
bucket; it is how we pay the feature.</font></p>

<h3><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">March 14th Revisited</font></h3></center>
<p align="justify"><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Fun week at
the Asylum with a packed open mic and excellent
feature by <b>Gary Hoare</b>. There were several first time readers in
the
open; we hope you'll join us again. Once taking to the mic Gary
performed
some of his greatest hits and a slew of newer work. He covered the
disco era
and 80's rock, shared a dog's prayer and tossed in some They Might Be
Giants
lyrics. Add in a lesson in eating ice cream and a free mini-book for a
wonderful night of words.</font></p>
