Hotel Vernon (1 Kelly Square, Worcester), will hold an open mic and a feature.
The reading starts at 8:00 p.m. with an open mic. This week the <i>Two
Sensitive Guys</i> takes the stage with <b>Steve Subrizi</b> and <b>Sam
Teitel</b> featuring. No cover; bring a few bucks to throw in the captain's
hat and to buy a $1 draft. 21+</font></p>

<h3><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Speakout! Youth Poetry Slam<br>Every Saturday Night</font></h3></center>
<p align="justify"><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">The <b>SpeakOut! Youth Poetry Slam</b> meets every
Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The format is an open mic, youth slam (open to
poets age 13-19) and a feature. Share a poem at the open mic, take part in
the youth slam or come see the feature. Join them in The Bisto in Higgins
Student Center (950 Main Street, Worcester).</font></p>

<h3><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Coming up on Sunday, December 21st</font></h3></center>
<p align="justify"><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Join the Poets' Asylum this week for our regular open poetry
mic and a feature from <b>Sam Teitel</b> and <b>Steve Subrizi</b>. Sam Teitel
and Steve Subrizi are both poets from the Boston area. Steve is a member of
Emerson College's legendary and award winning CUPSI team, The Gringo Choir. Sam
is a student at Hampshire College and a member of Manchester New Hampshire's
slightly less legendary or award winning but still perfectly respectable
National Poetry Slam team, Slam Free Or Die. They are delighted to be embarking
on their first big national poetry tour, and are willing to accept the idea
that they will be touring with each other. Their collaborative chapbook,
"Beet-itude: The Super Deluxe Collector's Edition" will be available soon. No,
that's not a typo; it's a book about beets. Like, the vegetable. Beets with
attitude.</font></p>
<p align="justify"><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Head over to Jumpin' Juice and Java (335 Chandler Street,

<h3><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">December 14th Revisited</font></h3></center>
<p align="justify"><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">This week the Asylum welcomed <b>Karen Finneyfrock</b> as our
feature. Karen came to us via the just completed Individual World Poetry
Slam in Charlotte, NC and had amusing stories from the gathering. Congrats go
out to a recent Asylum feature, Joaquín Zihuatanejo, on taking the iWPS
title. Karen's feature contained a mix of light humorous work and heavy-duty
gut punch stuff. It was all great stuff and a wonderful performance. Thanks
for the words Karen.</font></p>
