Poetry Journal</a><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"> will host their next </span><u style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Poetry Workshop</u><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"> between 3 and 5
p.m. at the offices of the </span><a style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;" href="http://wcpa.homestead.com/" target="_blank">
Worcester County Poetry Association</a><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"> (1 Ekman Street, first floor,
Worcester). This week </span><b style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Emily Ferrara</b> will facilitate a workshop titled
<i style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Word Alchemy</i><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">. </span></font><font style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;" face="garamond">This workshop is designed to tap into the playful
and transformational power of language, in order to generate raw
material for new poems. We will draw from both traditional and
experiential approaches to writing, including the Amherst Writers and
Artists (AWA) method, and the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied

Come join the fun at the Poets' Asylum this Sunday night (May 4th) as we hold
the <b>Spring Semi-final Slam</b>. The top four finishers move on to the team
finals in May 2008. Jonathan R. Wolf, Liz Heath, Nick Davis, Erin Jackson,
Tak, Gary Hoare, Dave Keali'i and Kate Richardson are expected to compete.
This will be a great night of performance poetry and you don't want to miss
it!</font></p>

sign-up list goes out around 7:00 p.m. and the reading starts closer to 7:30

<p align="justify"><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Amy Steinberg</b> artfully combined spoken word, music and
singing using her guitar. She involved the audience with the music and had
everyone in hysterics with a story concerning a dildo. She also offered a fine
cover of Ani DiFranco and reminded everyone how good it is to enjoy themselves
at a performance. Thank you, Amy!</font></p>
