Sunday, March 28th @ the Poets' Asylum

Please join the Poets' Asylum <http://poetsasylum.org/> this Sunday, March
28th for our regular open mic followed by a *Poem Swap Cover Slam*. A cover
slam features the usual poetry slam
rules<http://poetsasylum.org/spiellink.html>with the twist that
performers will read another poet's work. We're adding
an additional wrinkle to this just-for-fun slam. At the start of each round
the competitors will draw a poem from the bucket and must perform another
competitors work in the slam.

Those who want to compete need to bring copies of 2 of their own poems. The
winner gets accolades and a small cash prize. The audience gets to hear a
new take of some great poetry and probably some laughs too.

Come on down to Jumpin' Juice and Java (335 Chandler Street, Worcester). The
sign-up list goes out by 6:00 p.m. and the reading starts by 6:30 p.m. No
cover however please put some money in the bucket; it is how we cover the
expenses of the reading.

March 21st Revisited

And the hits keep on coming at the Poets' Asylum with another excellent
feature by a local poet. Following the dynamite open mic *Alex Charalambides
* took to the mic. Alex brought us a full set of brand new work in his
trademark sing-song style. From the aptly named Preface, past the Status
Update, all the way through a sonnet and the bass players lament Alex
brought the words and a bit of laughter. Great stuff from one of the go to
people in Worcester poetry. Thanks for the words Alex, don't be a stranger.
