The packed night will include a spotlight performance showcase, a youth
slam, a Clark University Slam and a special guest feature by *Jamaica Osorio
*. Osorio performed at the first ever White House "Poetry Jam" this year and
featured on HBO's "Brave New Voices" Series. Join them at Clark University:
Higgins University Center (950 Main Street, Worcester) in The Grind. The
event runs from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. It should be an amazing night with
fantastic poetry all around. Come check it out!
------------------------------
Coming up on Sunday, November 22nd
[image: Tui Scanlan] This Sunday, November 22nd, the Poets'
Asylum<http://poetsasylum.org/>welcomes poet
*Tui Scanlan* as our feature. Scanlan, also known as Tui-Z, burst onto the
Hawai'i poetry scene last year when he qualified to compete in the nationals
in his first year of competition. He has since worked as a mentor for Youth
Speaks, released a poetry CD titled *Patient Zero* and competed as a member
of the 2009 Hawai'i Slam team.
Come on down to Jumpin' Juice and Java (335 Chandler Street, Worcester). The
sign-up list goes out around 6:00 p.m. and the reading starts closer to 6:30
p.m. The feature follows the poetry open mic. Please put some money in the
bucket to when it comes your way, it's how we pay the feature.

November 15th Revisited
We experienced a brutally awesome feature this week from *Rachel
McKibbens*following a full to the brim open mic. Which made for one
amazing night of
poetry in Worcester. With a focus, conscious or otherwise, on family
interactions Rachel's poems brought the sometimes awful truths about those
we spend our lives with crashing home. From staggeringly beautiful to
heart-wrentchingly honest her words pack a wallop and leave you wanting
more. Fantastic stuff Rachel. Thanks for sharing your work with us.
