Greeting from the Poets' Asylum.

Worcester Storytellers - Friday night

*Worcester Storytellers* meets on the second Friday of each month at the
Village Arts Gallery (1 Ekman Street, Worcester). The reading starts at 8:00
p.m. There will be an open mic followed by a feature from *Ted Blackler*.
Blackler has promised an eclectic and occasionally silly mix of short
writings, including anecdotes from the scientific community, "minutes" from
"off-site strategy meetings", snippets from his work-in-progress fantasy
novel and an invocation of spring.

Worcester Storytellers never charges a cover. They ask you throw some money
into the basket to support the artists who feature. For more info please

Coming up on Sunday, May 10th

[image: Gary Hoare] Join the Poets' Asylum on Sunday, May 10th for our
regular poetry open mic and a feature by *Gary Hoare*. Hoare is an artist
and writer living in Worcester. He is a veteran of several Worcester and
Providence poetry slam teams, most recently the 2007 Worcester Poetry Slam
Team that competed in Austin, TX. Best known for his humorous work he also
crafts startlingly honest pieces that frame the answers to questions
unspoken. If the last time you heard from him was back on a slam team you
should come hear him now.

Come on down to Jumpin' Juice and Java (335 Chandler Street, Worcester). The
reading starts at *6:00 p.m.* No cover; please throw some money in the
bucket to support the feature.

May 3rd Revisited

Thanks to the folks to who joined us this week for the * Finish the
Poem*slam. We had three slammers compete and 3 judges offer up scores.
At the end
of the two rounds *Dave Macpherson* won the slam and our admiration. For
posterities sake here are the first / last lines for the two rounds.

Round one: "Greetings from Worcester" / "Wish you were here."
Round two: "The moon" / "sleep"
