This will be a four round slam with 1, 2, 3 and 4 minute rounds. Other than

August 23rd Revisited
An open mic, feature and a slam makes for a busy night at the Poets' Asylum,
even when we limit poets to 1 poem in the open. Following the full open mic
San Jose slammer *David Perez* took to the mic for a tight feature of well
practiced work. His set included references to mental health, Quinceaneras,
Black Friday and Tickle Me Elmo as well as a cover of Geoff Trenchard's *Grand
Larceny*. After the feature we held the *second iWPS open slam* with Alex
Charalambides, Nick Davis, Gary Hoare, Jackie and Charles competing. At the
end of the two rounds Gary & Nick the two highest combined scores. They move
on to the iWPS Selection Slam on August 30th.
Thanks to all those who came out, read a poem, listened to the feature and
cheered on the slammers. We hope you'll join us again for the next exciting
episode of the Poets' Asylum.
