Greetings from the Poets' Asylum.
------------------------------
Anaiis Azure @ The Ship Tonight
This week *The Spot*, the weekly poetry reading at the Hotel Vernon (1 Kelly
Square, Worcester), will hold an open mic and a feature. The reading starts
at 8:00 p.m. with an open mic. This week their feature will be Lizard Lounge
'08 slammer *Anaiis Azure*. No cover; bring a few bucks to throw in the
captain's hat and to buy a $1 draft. 21+

Coming up on Sunday, October 5th
Please join the Poets' Asylum tonight for our regular open mic and a feature
from *Jon Sands*. Sands' poetry is a genuine look into the mind of a moment
wrapped up neatly into an anvil, then dropped from a sixty story building. A
Cincinnati native, Sands now resides in New York City's legendary poetry
scene where in his first year of slam competition he captured a slot on the
LouderARTS New York City poetry slam team, the youngest person ever to do
so; then, upshot through the nation as a finalist at the National Poetry
Slam in Austin, TX.
Come on down to Jumpin' Juice and Java (335 Chandler Street, Worcester). The
reading starts at *6:00 p.m.*. No cover; please throw some money in the
bucket to support the features.

on Friday, October 3. On Saturday, October 4th the top-scoring individuals
from Friday will advance to the three round 2008 NorthBEAST Indy
Championship.

September 28 Revisited
It was a busy night at the Poets' Asylum this week with a handful of new
readers, an overflowing open mic and a feature from *Susan Elizabeth Sweeney
*. Family was the theme for the beginning of the set with poems about her
father's teeth, her mother's hair and an older sister's voracious reading
habit. The second half included an eclectic mix including a bit of erotica
and Beth's only political poem. Thank you Beth for all the words. Thanks too
to all who joined us this week. Please come again!
