Mike Mcgee is Coming to Town
As far as we know he doesn't see you when your sleeping or know if you've
been good however there's no doubt that the Mighty Mike McGee is a jolly
fellow with a great poetic sense. He's rolling into town (maybe on a sleigh)
and will be the featured poet about the area this weekend. You can catch him
at the following fine poetic venues near you...
- Friday night @ the Bridge Cafe (1117 Elm Street, Machester, NH)
open mic and feature - 7 to 11:00 p.m. - $3 cover
- Saturday night @ the *Speakout! Youth Poetry Slam* in the Bistro at
Clark University's Higgins Student Center (950 Main Street, Worcester)
open mic, youth slam & feature - 6 to 8:00 p.m. - no cover
- Sunday night @ the *Poets' Asylum* (details below)

Coming up on Sunday, December 28th
[image: Mike McGee] The *Poets' Asylum* closes out 2008 with a feature from
*Mighty Mike McGee*. McGee is an international spoken word artist, writer,
performer, speaker, slam poet and comic. He has performed in thousands of
venues all over North America, and was one of the first Americans ever to
perform poetry at the University la Sorbonne in Paris, France. In 2003,
McGee won the coveted National Poetry Slam Individual Grand Championship,
besting over 300 nationally ranked poetry slammers. He has since toured over
300,000 miles throughout the United States and Canada where fellow National
Poetry Slam Indy Champ, Shane Koyczan and beat-boxer poet extraordinaire
C.R. Avery (of Vancouver, B.C.) joined him to form the group Tons of Fun
University in 2004.
Cap off 2008 by joining the wild and crazy times at Jumpin' Juice and Java
(335 Chandler Street, Worcester). The reading starts at *6:00 p.m.* No
cover; please throw some money in the bucket to support the reading.
