Kids can bring a favorite poem to read out loud, or we can give your child a poem to read. Moms, Dads and family members are welcome to read also. And if you are a child who is writing poetry, come share your work with a receptive audience.

Wake up
and Smell the Poetry is a monthly televised poetry series in
Hopkinton. The series takes place on Saturday mornings starting at
10:30 a.m. with featured performers followed by an open mic. The
programs are open to the public and are filmed before a live audience.
Admission is free with a hat pass to pay the featured performers.
Light refreshments are available. The series takes place at HCAM Studios, which are
located at 77 Main Street, Hopkinton.
"Wake Up and Smell the Poetry" will be on hiatus until September 2010.
Spots in the open mic are limited and advance sign-up is suggested. Hosted by Cheryl Perreault. Visit their website for more info and to view past programs online.
The Worcester Youth Slam will be on hiatus until September 2010.

GotPoetry Live (late of Reflection's Cafe in Providence,RI) has
found a new home in Providence at Blue State Coffee (300 Thayer Street,
Providence, RI 02906 ). The reading runs from 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. The
format will be an open mic followed by a feature.

The
Worcester County Poetry Asssociation is a non-profit organization
whose mission is to promote the writing arts. Founded in 1971 to provide
a forum for local poets, students, and others to celebrate the rich
literary history of Central Massachusetts, the WCPA sponsors readings,
workshops, and other activities involving both local and nationally known
poets and writers.
They are the publishers of The Worcester Review.
